what a dumb rule

My sister inlaw and I have been trying to get the kids together to get pictures taken for my mom.  Of course we came up with the plan, that she would get her daughter’s pictures taken, and then I can get my boys pictures taken seperatly… and then have just 1 picture of the 3 of them to give to my mom for Christmas.  I’ve been getting the boys ready for pictures all week.  New haircuts and new clothes and today I called the portrait place and scheduled an appointment for Thursday at 11:30.  The whole morning was open, but I thought, we’d get our pictures taken and then go get lunch!  Well about an hour later I realized that we probably wanted to schedule 2 time slots since she will have her pictures taken and then I will have mine taken…  So I called back and told the lady that I had just scheduled an appointment earlier and that I was coming in with family and that we DID want 1 picture taken together, but for the most part, we wanted our kids pictures taken seperatly and Do we need 2 appointments?  She said yes, that we needed two appointments and that she would just have to call in to schedule her appointment.  So, I said, “Since I have you in the phone can I just schedule for her since we are coming in together?”  She said, “No, we don’t allow other people to schedule your appointments for you.”  I just said, “Umm…. ok, thanks.” and hung up.  Now all I need to do is call back and pretend to be her.  :-P

Weekend Flash

I didn’t get to see much of Marcus this weekend…  Our schedules just never lined up right.  Friday and Saturday, I was in Arlington.  A guy I used to work with emailed me to ask if I was available to babysit for a friend of his wifes.  Of course I was available!  I found out later that the lady I was babysitting for didn’t even know him OR his wife…  It was kind of odd, but at least I know that I was highly recomended.  Basically she only needed me to sit in the hotel while her 14 month old slept.  They stayed at the Hilton and had adjoining rooms.  He had his own room to sleep in and Alec and I hung out in the other room until she got back.

While I sat at the Hilton on Saturday, Marcus paraded his family around Washington, DC to hit all of the tourist spots along the mall.  We were supposed to get up early on Sunday to drive out to Skyline for the day, but they were so tired from their walk, that it turned out to just be Jason and I.  Of course I had Alec with me… Caleb was with my mom all weekend.  It wasn’t the best day for picture taking, since it was cloudy and hazy, but we got a few good shots.  Jason taught me a lot about the manual settings on my camera.  I posted the pictures that I took on facebook.  The shots I got are ok, for the camera lens that I have.  Marcus ordered a better lens for me which I should get today!  I’m hoping to maybe get up to NYC soon to try it out.  The city should be filled with Christmas Decor and I’m sure it will be beautiful!  Jason said we could start a photography club.  Ha ha!  That’d be great!  :)

growing up…

Caleb Jordan Stone:  I decided one Saturday to work hard all day, cleaning and organizing… Then I went to my Aunt’s house and we all helped each others cars (4 total).  We had a large meal and before leading home I went to use the bathroom.  My water broke (actually more like a leak…) while I was sitting there.  No one believed that my water had broken and I was almost on my way out the door, but I decided to call my doctor just to check.  Well, she didn’t believe me either, but she told me to go intot he hospital just in case.  As I was dressing into my hospital gown (almost an hour and a half later) and I stepped out of my jeans, is when my water gushed.  Caleb was born a little over 9 hours later.  I remember the Redskins winning that day!

Alec Jordan Sattler:  I decided one Saturday that I was done being pregnant and I walked around the mall for almost 2 hours.  When I got home, I walked to the shopping center and into each store until I got to Walmart.  I was in so much pain from walking that I called Marcus for a ride home.  That night I layed down to go to bed and I felt that my pants were a little wet.  I was leaking a little and again was not sure if it was my water or not.  Again, the doctor did not belive me and told me to wait at home until contractions started.  I waited 6 hours and no contractions came, but a whole lot of water did!  I went to the hospital where the nurses were surprised to see me.  We started Pitocin and Alec was born a little over 3 hours after starting pitocin.  I remember the Redskins lost that day.

Caleb’s 4th Birthday

I realize that I am over a week late in posting this…  But the past couple of weeks have been busy and I have a few more blogs to post AFTER this as well…. :)

We had Caleb’s 4th birthday Party the Saturday after his party.  Everyone who I invited came, and we had a lot of fun!  I didn’t do everything that I had planned on doing, but it was such a good party anyways!  After everyone showed up, we had the kids put on the sorting hat and they were sorted into 4 houses.  Then we decorated party hats and the kids got thier wands.  We had Caleb show the rest of the kids the spell to use when you see a dementor.  That’s when we dropped the dementor pinata from the deck.  Unfortunatly, the pinata was too tough for the kids… and the stick broke!  So, we dumped the prizes out and we had cake.  The cake turned out to be pretty good…  I really though I had gotten in way over my head until it was done.  Everyone loved it and everyone was really impressed, which mad me feel better about it.  Anyways… I was happy witht he party.  :)

One part I forgot. We opened gifts after most of the party had left. We still had family and a few of our close friends around. It wasn’t so crazy and he got TONS of stuff!!! I got him a radio flyer scooter, which he loves! We go out to ride it all the time and it’s easy for us to take along with us to the park or to grandma’s house. :)

Bad Photobucket!

Well, I spent all afternoon on photobucket trying to create a slideshow of the pictures from out vacation.  In the middle of working on it though, I had to step away here and there for the kids.  Everytime I came back to the computer, the site was still up and it let me continue working on it.  Until… I went to finalize the project and then it sent me to the login page!  AHHH!!!  So…  Instead of posting a slideshow on here for you to see… I will just post my favorites right here…  Which is what I didn’t want to do, because it’s a lot!  Enjoy!

We built this awesome sand fortress for Caleb and we were going to wait for the tide to come in and destroy it.

For one… Caleb didn’t make it an hour. And two… High Tide that day wasn’t supposed to be till 10:00 p.m.

Here are some pictures that I took at the pool party yesterday.

Caleb and Jayden went swimming in the BIG pool. These pictures were taken in 4-5 ft deep waters. They were swimming around all over the pool all by themselves. Jayden did GREAT and didn’t cry at all when I let go of her. She laughed! Caleb of course was paddleing out and telling Jayden to swim with him, which… once she realized she wasn’t going to go under, was happy to follow!
